A collection of artwork I've done in an effort to fill out a Pokedex as I run a Pokemon tabletop RPG with my friends! I'm having fun doing it and always improving. I hope you all are having fun with it, too!
#004 - Charmander. I had fun with this one; the fire present gave me plenty of interest to play with lighting.
#016 - Pidgey. Pidgey are a mishmash of all of the super common birds and, despite multiple Pokedex references, do not include pidgeon in their original inspiriation. I leaned into one of the smaller birds that was mentioned for this one.
#017 - Pidgeotto. Based on the same mishmash as Pidgey, Osprey has been thrown in the mix, so I kind of leaned on that. I'm pretty proud of it.
#027 - Sandhsrew. I thought this one was so cute I couldn't help but be happy with how it came out, if for no other reason than that it looks like rock!
#037 - Vulpix (Alolan). The snow fluff! It just wants to play!
#058 - Growlithe. An old favorite, I leaned on a mountain dog for the base design, bringing a bit of realizm in with that double dew claw!
#077 - Ponyta. The most traditional 'mount' Pokemon in the dex, Ponyta are easily recognized. i can only hope I've done it the justice it deserves.
#077 - Ponyta (Galar). This psychic pony's long, flowing locks are actually really pretty to see. Kind of cloud like... Or like... Cotton candy.
#081 - I learned a lot about how magnemite work while drawing this and I'm really happy with how it came out. Despite being a bunch of simple shapes they're actually pretty hard to get right.
#129 - Magikarp. The 'most useless fish' manages to evolve into one of the most deadly things in the sea, so y'know... be nice to it.
#175 - Togepi. The not-really-an-egg pokemon that comes from another world to spread happiness! ... Or vengeful spite. Sooo... Santa?
#213 - Shuckle. Shhhhh... He's working! This is actually very normal, trainers will cork all but one hole so the berries can't spill.
#218 - Slugma. Just a happy pool of lava... Now with tail, because... Well, because.
#228 - Houndour. Often personified as junkyard dog types, with docked ears and tails, I went a little more puppy with it - docked tail, but those beautiful floppy ears before they get docked. Also drool. Lots... And lots... of drool.
#241 - Miltank. All that caring for other pokemon must be exhausting. Just catching us a quiet, peaceful moment, and a little, tiny nap.
#258 - Marshtomp. So I realized something while looking at this line... They're Axolotls. Salamanter children. And they're beautiful for it! So I kinda leaned on that. Really hard. Love the result!
#259 - Marshtomp. Even more axolotle, now with beans!
#261 - Poochyena. Itchy, itchy ear! Gee, I hope it doesn't have Joltiks!
#298 - Azurill. Just a happy ball with a mouse attached!
#300 - Skitty. Look at this little airhead, staring at nothing!
#318 - Carvanha. Hungry little battlescar with an attitude. This fish doesn't care if it takes damage, as long as it gets fed. Or blood...
#322 - Numel. This little mountain camel is so serene. Just enjoy him trundling along.
#328 - Trapinch. Just a friendly reminder to watch out for sand pits and dips in the dunes. Trapinch are waiting, and their bite stength is kinda bad for bones.
#339 - Barboach. I was surprised to realize that there ARE actually tears in its tailfin! I hadn't realized that before this piece.
#401 - Kricketot. Little cello-bug, play me a tune. Strum your cello-belly and ring your antennae, for I march to your beats!
#403 - Shinx. Playful kitty! He might practice his roar a little, but don't worry... It's not that inspiring a thing, thus far.
#417 - Pachirisu. I never realized just how creepy Pachirisu's eyes are... but then the official art just draws them as little ovals, so... maybe it's my style of it that's creepy.
#509 - Purrloin. This... 100% LOOKS like a cat who'd steal your wallet for the giggles.
#522 - Blitzle. I can't get over how timid and awkward Blitzle's hooves look. I may have to go back and redo them.
#551 - Sandile. Chonky little snaptrap of death. Not what you want to see lurking in the dunes!
#570 - Zorua. This imperious beast is cleaning itself.
#585 - Deerling. Recolors aren't hard, but I still love how these deer came out!
#661 - Fletchling. This line is interesting. Hummingbird to woodpecker to hawk. I really like how soft it came out looking.
#714 - Noibat. Since they're based on fruit bats, it made sense to me that it would be munching on a berry. I chose Pecha just because they're my favorite design.
#725 - Litten. Just a snarky kitten! Also... TOEBEANS!
#744 - Rockruff. Just a happy puppy!
#757 - Salandit. I tried to make it look like the heat exposure had started to cook the berry.
#835 - Yamper. I had to look up a corgi for this pose and proportions.
